Cranbrook Skating Club Program Pathway:

Pre-CanSkate
Pre-CanSkate is offered to children 3-4 years old who have never skated before.
This is an introduction to skating and encourages a “learning through play” philosophy while allowing the participants to become comfortable and competent on the ice.
Age: 3-5 years old
Lesson Format: Group Instruction
CanSkate
CanSkate is Skate Canada's Learn to Skate Program for Beginners. This program teaches fundamental skills to give skaters the best foundation for figure skating, hockey, ringette, or recreational skating.
Age: 5 & up (or younger if your skater has completed the Pre-CanSkate Program)
Lesson Format: Group Instruction
Power Skating
Power Skating is a program focused on skating essentials for those who play (or would like to play) hockey/ringette.
Participants must be able to stop without assistance and skate backwards the length of the ice.
Age: The age range of this program changes based on the needs of our community. Please check the registration page for more information

Adult Skate is great for adults who want to learn a new skill, get a workout, or improve their skating abilities.
Lesson Format: Private & Group Instruction
Rising Stars
Rising Stars is an introduction to figure skating. It teaches introductory skills to skaters who are interested in competitive or recreational figure skating.

Figure Skating
Figure Skating offers athletes the opportunity to experience the challenge of taking tests or entering competitions at the provincial, national, and international level. There are 2 main categories: STARSkate and CompetitiveSkate.
